Member of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi parliament Emad Youkhana announced that Iraq would refuse to postpone the upcoming Arab Summit to be held in Baghdad in March. Leaks have indicated the existence of views within the Arab League to postpone holding the Arab summit next year due to the current situation in the Arab region, especially in Syria. Youkhana said that Iraq will refuse to postpone the upcoming Arab summit in Baghdad for several reasons, including the need of the region and the Arab states for it. Regarding the Iraqi government''s initiative towards Syria, Youkhana said that Iraq will activate the initiative through diplomatic channels and through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (QNA) AMA/LY
