MP Ammar Houri from Future bloc on Tuesday renewed rejection of election law proposals that contradict the Constitution and Taef Agreement, stressing that they shall not pass.
"There is no breakthrough regarding the election law; any law to be endorsed shall respect the Constitution and Taef Agreement," Houri told an interview on Voice of Lebanon (100.5) radio station.
"Proposals made away from the Constitution and Taef shall not pass. Therefore, the qualifying part of Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil's proposal will not pass," he underlined.
"This proposal brings us back to sectarianism and to the civil war logic," he explained.
However, Houri indicated that there was still hope to reach agreement over a new vote mode.
