The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MoFAIC, and its representative missions abroad have participated in Earth Hour, the largest environmental awareness initiative organised annually to raise awareness about global warming and climate change around the world.
To mark the occasion, the Ministry last night turned the lights off in its offices for one hour, from 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm and its representative state missions abroad did the same based on local time.
MoFAIC's participation is part of the ministry's keenness to join global efforts in facing the challenges and negative impact of climate change, as well as reaffirm its commitment to supporting efforts to preserve the planet.
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature that encourages people around the world to turn off all unnecessary lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness of the dangers of global warming, conserve natural resources, and protect the environment.
