The Minister of Municipality and Environment and Chairman of the Arab Towns Award Organization, HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, met here on Wednesday with the jury members of the 13th Session of the Arab Towns Award Organization, which announced its results in Doha yesterday.
The jury members reviewed during the meeting some of the recommendations made by the Jury for the Doha-based Arab Towns Award Organization on the development of the award's working mechanism and the submission of nominations.
HE the Minister praised the efforts being exerted by the Jury during this year's edition, expressing hope that the Organization would intensify efforts during the coming period to promote the Award and its role in preserving the identity of the Arab Islamic City.
The State of Qatar won four awards in this session: The city of Doha won the first place at the category of Architectural Project Award for (Al Hazm Project); Al Wakra shared second place with Al Shamal City by winning the Architectural Heritage Award category for restoring Al-Wakra Historical Castle while Al Shamal City obtained the Afforestation Award. Rayyan City claimed third place by winning the Beautification Award.
