The court convicted the defendant of murder under Article 2/333 of the 1976 Penal Code and unauthorised possession of a firearm and ammunition under Article 7, Paragraph 1, item A and 11 and 18 / 2,4 and 1/22)of the Law on Crackers, Arms and Ammunition of 1976.
Dr. Flaifel said that all the court-martial sessions were expeditious, flexible and ensured all the judicial guarantees in accordance with the applicable laws.
"The public hearing sessions convened in the presence of the families of the defendant and the victim, along with a large attendance of civilians", he said.
The court reviewed all the evidence and technical reports and heard testimonies of witnesses and the coroner. The defendant had a full chance to defend himself and provide all rebuttal evidence through his lawyer.
The Military Judiciary Chief affirmed the right of the convict and the military prosecution to challenge the verdict before the High Military Court of Appeals, and then refer the case to the High Military Court of Cassation as per the appellate procedures.
