Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki met on Friday with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, currently visiting Tunisia. After the meeting, Benkirane said that Tunisia and Morocco are keen on working to practically build an Arab Maghreb entity, hoping that the next Arab Maghreb summit, due to be held in Tunisia in October, will take serious and effective measures. He expressed his optimism at the democratic path in Tunisia and Morocco would be a starting point for achieving union between Arab Maghreb nations, and a strategic prerequisite for responding to the demands of Arab Maghreb peoples in lifting the different barriers between them. Benkirane arrived in Tunisia on Thursday on a two-day official visit.
