A looming Egyptian-Algerian-Tunisian summit will crown continued efforts exerted by these states to clinch a political solution to the Libyan crisis as soon as possible, the Egyptian ambassador to Algeria said.
In an interview with the Algerian newspaper El Hiwar, Omar Abu Eish said the summit will send a clear message to Libyan parties and the international community that the three states are deeply interested in Libya's stability and its territorial integrity away from interference.
He stressed that the parties concerned with the Libyan crisis rejected the military option.
He said it is hard to reach a peaceful solution without paving the ground for it.
He added that some domestic and foreign players seek maintaining the status quo to serve their clannish interests.
He said Egypt and Algeria held intensive political contacts on Arab and African issues, especially the Libyan crisis.
Meanwhile, Abu Eish highlighted the amicable ties between the two countries.
He noted that the embassy was gearing up for an Egyptian cultural week in Algeria.
He added that trade exchange between the two countries reached 750 million dollars in 2016
