US Special Presidential Envoy for the International anti-Daesh Coalition has commended Kuwait's efforts offering relief aid to afflicted countries and populations suffering armed conflicts.
Kuwait's humanitarian work is great, the US envoy said, according to a press release, after he met Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Hilal Al-Sayer, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Through the KRCS, Kuwait has exerted hard efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the displaced Iraqis and the Syrian refugees in the neighboring countries.
On his part, Al-Sayer said that the meeting with the US envoy addressed the KRCS's humanitarian response in case of catastrophes, and the relief presented to the displaced Iraqis in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The KRCS has offered about 40,000 tons of medications and more than 80,000 of food to the displaced Iraqis in addition to building five schools.
He noted the society has built partnerships with the humanitarian organizations in Iraq to lessen the psychological, social, financial and health impact resulting from the war there, KUNA reported.
