Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali is to leave Kuwait for Khartoum tomorrow, Thursday for a two-day official visit to Sudan, it was reported here Wednesday. During the visit, Mustafa Al-Shimali will hold official talks with the Sudanese senior officials including Vice President Ali Othman Taha, and his Sudanese counterpart Ali Mahmoud ,on means of improving and enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries, acting charge d''affires at the Kuwaiti embassy in Khartoum Khalid Mutairan Al-Harbi told KUNA. He added that this visit comes to boost ties between the two nations and increase the cooperation in various fields. "This coordination comes according to instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir to serve the interest of the people of two brotherly countries," Al-Harbi pointed out. He will head to Kassala eastern state in the second day, visiting Steit and Atbarh river hovers. Al-Harbi wished that the visit would boost relations between the two countries, started since 1960s, even further. Kuwait offered USD 80 million to Sudan, to finance the project of establishing Steit and Atbarah hovers. The loan was agreed an upon signing an agreement in the meeting of Kuwaiti-Sudanese Higher Ministerial Committee held in Sudan on December 22, 2010, headed by the foreign minister of both countries.
