The deadline given for residency violators, which is due to end on June 30, will not be extended even for a one day, or under any condition. The previous remark was made by Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Rashed, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Citizenship and Passports Affairs, at a press conference held Sunday at the headquarters of the General Department of Immigration. Al-Rashed added that the Ministry devised an integrated plan to overcome the phenomenon of unlicensed labor, and residency violators, at the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister, and the Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Al-Rashed added in the same conference, which was attended by Acting Director General of the General Department of Immigration Brig. Adnan Abdullah Al-Kandari, and Acting Director of Public Relations, Morale Guidance and Security Media Department Col. Adel Al-Hashash, that a plan was put forward in this respect to various sectors of the Ministry, and it will be strictly applied as of the beginning of next July, and there will be no exceptions. He also said that the ministerial decree, which set a four-month deadline for residency violators, is based on the Amiri lenient grant, which took into account the humanitarian conditions of those with children at schools, or have financial or job commitments, giving even the absentees the right to leave without any legal liability. Finally, he said that the number of those who benefited from the Amiri grant hit now 42,000 residency violators who adjusted their conditions, or left the country of the total 112,000, namely accounting for a 34 percent, while making clear that the number of persons who left the country till June 22, 2011, hit 28,662.
