The Media Office of the UAE Embassy in Lebanon today announced the conclusion of aid distribution in Tripoli, Lebanon. The campaign was in line with the UAE response to the displaced Syrians during the winter of 2016.
The campaign was courtesy the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, KF, in co-operation with the Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organisation of Lebanon's Dar Al-Fatwa in Lebanon.
Five thousand Syrian and Lebanese families in a number of Lebanese areas benefited from the assistance in the last few days. The distribution process started on April 2nd and each family received a clothing parcel that included 29 pieces of clothing.
Musallem Al Mansouri, director of the humanitarian and development aid office at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, said the UAE has been consistently supporting the Syrian refugees in these difficult circumstances as it realises the conditions being witnessed in Lebanon. That is why it decided to pursue the issue and meet the needs of the Syrians and the affected Lebanese."
He also pointed out that other aid campaigns will be starting on Monday, April 11th, and will continue till April 17th. These will also be run with provisions made available by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
He added that 3,500 Syrian and Lebanese families will benefit from the project in border town of Arsal where the population is suffering from dire and deteriorating living and humanitarian conditions.
Al Mansouri added that the distribution process will cover a number of Syrian tents and the Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organisation of Lebanon's Dar Al-Fatwa in Lebanon, noting that it will be for the benefit of 2,250 Syrian families and 1,250 Lebanese families.
