MP Mohammad Kabbani said on Thursday at the evening plenary session held that vacuum at the level of the Parliament meant the end of the current political regime.
"The adoption of the so-called Orthodox law in a total or partial way would also undermine the unity of Lebanon and lead to its division," he said.
Kabbani called on all leaders to take a courageous approach to the homeland and to draft an electoral law that would guarantee the country's interest only.
Regarding the role of Christians, he announced that "Lebanon without an effective role of Christians is not a country."
As for the Syrian refugee crisis, Kabbani stressed that Lebanon and the Lebanese people endured this heavy burden, welcoming in this context the recent position of Prime Minister Saad Hariri voiced at the Brussels Conference.
