Member of Parliament, Shant Janjanian, warned on Wednesday from what he described as an "unconstitutional legislative session", confirming that the Lebanese Forces will not be taking part in the House of Parliament's mandate extension session.
"The Lebanese Forces (LF) refuses to play the role of a false witness to an attempt to monopolize the authority, and to another attempt to allow illegitimate arms to seize control over the constituents of the state," the lawmaker said in a statement.
He reiterated his political party's firm belief in the sanctimony of the people's will and right for change.
"It has become more than evident that some sides do not wish to settle for a new election law and are trying to block all the roads leading to a law that meets the Lebanese people's aspirations," Janjanian added, warning from any likely unconstitutional legislative session which "doesn't take into consideration the Christian refusal of a move that confiscates their rights."
"We are wagering on Speaker of the House Nabih Berri's wisdom and keenness on sparing the nation from going down the slope -- a place that neither the Lebanese Forces nor the other sane political parties would want the nation to go," the Member of Parliament added.
