Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar stressed Sunday that the security bodies had not asked any citizen residing in North Sinai to move to other governorates since the start of incidents in this governorate, adding that the security bodies and the Armed Forces are carrying out their national role in combating terror and providing security to all nationals.
During a plenary meeting with his aides and security leaderships to follow up the security policies and assess the police performance, the minister said security forces, in cooperation with the Armed Forces, have achieved tangible success in undermining terrorist elements in North Sinai and will continue to play its national role to uproot terror across North Sinai despite the sacrifices.
Terrorism targets everyone but its schemes will never succeed, he added, referring to the strong awareness of the people and the strict confrontation by the forces.
The minister stressed the need to find ways to prevent road accidents and activate supervision of drivers who consume drugs.
The meeting also covered the need to maintain stability of markets and encourage investment and economic development.
