The branch of the Emirates Red Crescent in Fujairah is providing 294 registered orphans with Eid clothes, at an estimated cost of AED147,000, as well as the distribution of Zakat al-Fitr to 848 families registered, with a value of AED484,000.
The Fujairah branch of the ERC focuses on providing assistance to unprivileged families on the east coast with a range of humanitarian programmes.
Within the branch's initiatives in the Holy Month of Ramadan, it provided 3,500 Iftar meals a day at 12 sites established in east coast cities under the supervision of 12 volunteers.
Suhail Rashid Al Qadi, Director of the ERC branch in Fujairah, said that the branch provided disadvantaged families in Ramadan with food and consumables, in addition to distributing electrical appliances to registered families.
