Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Adel bin Zaid al Toraifi said the Egyptian participation in the 31st Saudi National Festival for Heritage and Culture (Janadriyah Festival) repudiated the hubbub concerning the strength of joint ties.
In statements, the minister underlined that the relations binding the two countries are "deeply-rooted".
He added that the Egyptian and Saudi peoples realize the importance of relations and common interests between the two countries.
During the inauguration of the event, Saudi King Salman ben Abdul Aziz hailed Egypt's participation as the honorary guest of the Janadriyah Festival.
The monarch commended the Egyptian pavilion and said “Egypt came back”.
The 2500-square-meter Egyptian pavilion at the conference included sections on the Islamic architecture, EgyptAir, the Suez Canal Development project and the new administrative capital.
Egyptian bands of Arabic music, Tanura dance, Aswan folk arts and religious singing took part in the event.
Janadriyah Festival is the most important national event held expressing Saudi Arabia's history and its current concept of booming prosperity. A number of Gulf countries partook in the festival as usual this year.
