Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam asserted the depth of Egyptian-Yemeni relations over the years.
Allam's remarks came on the sidelines of his meeting Tuesday with Yemeni Minister of Endowments and Guidance Ahmed Attia, who is currently on a visit to Egypt.
Boosting cooperation and unity among religious institutions is significant in fighting groups of extremism and terrorism, Allam said, pointing out to the importance of unifying efforts aiming to protect young men against extremist thoughts.
The Mufti meanwhile voiced Darul Iftaa's readiness to provide religious support in all fields to train preachers and exchange views and religious publications.
Allam added that Tuesday's meeting touched upon means of promoting religious cooperation between Egypt's Darul Iftaa and Yemen's Ministry of Endowments and Guidance.
The Yemeni minister said he was looking forward to cooperating with Darul Iftaa and making use of its experience in confronting extremism and terrorism.
