Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammad Kamel Amr starts later today a tour of Turkey and Germany within the framework of consultations with various countries and regional and international forces on the current situations in Egypt and the region. In a statement issued here today, a Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Minha Bakhoum said Amr's visit to Turkey would provide an opportunity to promote understanding and coordination between the two countries towards various regional issues, particularly the current situations in Syria and Libya, in addition to strengthening the bonds of cooperation and the development of bilateral relations, which extend to many fields, especially after the formation of new governments in Egypt and Turkey. During the visit, the Egyptian Foreign Minister is also scheduled to meet Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu, the Spokesman added. On the other hand, the Egyptian Foreign Minister's visit to Germany is aimed at promoting cooperation at the level of bilateral trade and investment to support the democratic transition currently experienced by Egypt, the Spokesman noted.
