Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a session of talks today with his Algerian counterpart Abdelkader Messahel. The two sides discussed political, economic and trade relations, in addition to regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.
Addressing a press conference, Shoukry stressed strong relations binding Egypt and Algeria, underlining shared desire to strengthen ties. He said that the session of talks had focused on the scourge of terrorism and the need of stepping up cooperation between intelligence agencies to protect the security of the Egyptian and Algerian peoples.
The Algerian minister also underlined his country’s keenness on strengthening relations with Egypt, adding that the high cooperation committee would hold a meeting in Algiers late this year.
