The Fatah movement has asserted that that there won't be any peace without a recognition of East Jerusalem as a capital of the Palestinian state. Fatah Spokesman Osama Al-Qawasmi said in a statement issued Tuesday that there won't be any negotiations as well with Israel if the latter doesn't stop settlement activities on land occupied in 1967 and approves and adheres to the international legitimacies and signed conventions. Al-Qawasmi said that Netanyahu''s government has proved its unseriousness and disinterest in peace and called however upon the international community to put an end to Israel''s denial of the inalienable rights of the palestinian people and commit it to abide by the international law and legitiamcy . The fatah spokesman further said that Fatah movement would continue struggle until materializing all goals of the palestinian people for freedom and independence . Netanyahu had recently spoke in front of the Israeli parliament, asking the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, solve the refugee problem outside Israel and accept a permanent Israeli army presence in parts of the West Bank in a demilitarized Palestinian state that does not include Jerusalem. The Palestinian national authority rejected Netanyahu's propositions while Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudaineh said that Netanyahu's statement are " unacceptable pre-conditions." Also, Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat told a Geneva Initiative Conference in Tel Aviv that peace should not be looked at as a favor, but a mutual interest.
