General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received clerics and guests of the President at Al Bateen Palace here on Wednesday. The scholars, who greeted the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince on the advent of the holy month, will deliver lectures on the values of Ramadan. During the meeting attended by Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the clerics in their second country, the UAE, exchanging with them Ramadan greetings. Shaikh Mohammed said the UAE under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, highlights the moderate method of Islamic teachings, referring to the role of Muslim scholars and thinkers in spreading the values of tolerance, a major trait and brand of coexistence in the country. He appreciated the efforts of the scholars in depicting the correct image of Islam through promotion of tolerance and coexistence, reiterating their contributions to tackling of different societal issues in the light of religion. Officials of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments briefed Shaikh Mohammed about the programmes and lectures to be delivered by the scholars on various issues such as upbringing of children, family stability, boosting of national and social links, work efficiency, counter extremism, ethics of dialogue and respect. Present were Dr Hamdan Mussalam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Mohammed Obaid Al Mazrouei, Executive Director for Islamic Affairs; Dr Farouq Hamada, Religious Advisor at the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince; and a number of officials. Accompanied by Shaikh Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammed also received a group of Emirati well wishers who visited him at Al Bateen Palace to greet him on the advent of Ramadan.
