Interim President Foued Mebazaa received, during his meeting on Tuesday in Carthage with Religious Affairs Minister Laroussi Mizouri, a report on the 2011 pilgrimage. On this occasion, the Religious Affairs Minister pointed out that this year's pilgrimage took place under normal circumstances compared with the previous years, despite some shortcomings that generally accompany the organisation of pilgrimage. "These insufficiencies have been taken note of, so as to avoid their repetition in the next pilgrimage seasons," he said, stressing the need to take into consideration the age of the pilgrims and the people with chronic diseases, and making sure to offer these persons conditions suitable to their specific needs. He specified that the time of these people's stay in the Holy Shrines should be shortened, and that there needs to gather them, for their accommodation and transport, to guarantee their better care.
