Capital Governor, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Public Security, today inspected the site of the restaurant that was badly damaged in a blast that was caused by gas leakage, in which the front of a number of nearby shops and cars were damaged. Hopefully no injuries were reported.
The governor highlighted that the restaurant inspection committee of the Capital Governorate warned the restaurant on March 27 to correct some violations, while the accident took place before the end of the grace period. He added that inspections on restaurants will continue to encourage them to follow the required rules.
The Governor hailed the efforts and fast response of the civil defence, as the team reached within 4 minutes of receiving the case. He urged the public to be cautious and follow safety conditions.
It is worth mentioning that in accordance to the rules, gas cylinders should be kept out in an area with good ventilation and fix gas pipes and connections that meet the specifications, while they should be maintained regularly.
The gas cylinders should be kept away from inflammable items and wastes. It is also important to fix gas detection devices available at shops that sell safety tools.
