The Armed Forces have contributed – under directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi – to accomplishing many development, services and infrastructure projects, especially in most needy areas, alongside efforts to eradicate terror.
The Armed Forces Engineering Authority set up 2,562 housing units in areas of Tur, Ras Sedr, Dahab and Sharm el Sheikh.
The Authority also established a water desalination station in Abu Redis with a daily production capacity of 4,500 cubic meters.
Three other stations are being set up in Taba, Ras Sedr and Tur at a total production capacity of 30,000 cubic meters daily.
In Tur, the authority established a sanitation station whose capacity is 10,000 cubic meters daily.
The authority also set up 14 schools and four education directorates in Abu Redis, Ras Sedr, Abu Zeneimah, Nuweibah, Sharm el Sheikh and Tur.
Three central hospitals in Saint Catherine, Taba and Abu Redis were also upgraded.
The authority also renovated Taba-Naqab road, Ras Naqab-Nuweiba road, Ras Sedr-Sedr Hitan road and Eyoun Moussa-Sharm el Sheikh road.
The authority has organized two youth forums in Sharm el Sheikh and Tur and plans to establish 20 youth centers and camps in South Sinai.
The authority is coordinating with the Industrial Development Authority and South Sinai governorate to set up water, sanitation and power stations along with gas pipelines in the industrial zone of Abu Zeneimah.
The authority also set up 26 Azherite schools and institutes and is working on eight schools in North and South Sinai.
A Bedouin community of 30 houses will also be set up in Nahaiyat-Ras Sedr areas.
The authority is setting up the New Ismailia city in which 58,000 housing units would be established.
The first stage of the project was accomplished and the second stage will be finalized before the end of 2017.
The authority also plans to set up a New Suez city and King Salman ben Abdul Aziz university in South Sinai.
The authority also opened 187 anti-illiteracy classes in eastern Qantara area.
