Vice President of the Arab Network for Human Rights Institutions Youssef bin Abdullah Al Afifi expressed regrets at the increase of civil conflicts in the Arab countries which led to the killing of a large number of people, mainly from women and children.
Addressing the International Conference on Human Rights Approach to Conflict Situations in the Arab Region, currently taking place in Doha, Al Afifi noted that the current struggles led to a collapse in all political, social, and economic rights.
He noted that such a tragic situation requires more effort to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of people in those areas. Al Afifi called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to assume its responsibility in protecting the lives of innocent people.
Youssef bin Abdullah Al Afifi then gave a presentation on the efforts of the Arab Network in promoting human rights in the past few years. He said that the organization has played a big role in raising awareness on humanitarian rights in order to protect them.
