The 86th session of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) kicked off here on Sunday under the chairmanship of Qatari Minister of Administrative Development and Labor and Social Affairs Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi.
Minister of Manpower Mohammad Saafan along with representatives of Arab governmental and business enterprises are taking part in the session.
The session will discuss a set of challenges facing the labor market in the Arab countries, ALO's agenda for the sustainable development goals of 2030 as well as the economic and social conditions in the Arab countries in view of current political and security tensions in the region.
The conferees will also address preparations for the International Labor Organization (ILO)'s annual conference set to convene in Geneva in June.
They will also be briefed on a number of technical reports on women and labor market as well as a periodical report on the Israeli settlement expansion and its impact on the labor sector in the occupied Palestinian territories.
