The number of candidates who applied at the Interior Ministry's General Directorate for Electoral Affairs on Monday, the sixth day of registration for the 2012 National Assembly (parliament) elections, came to 30. With eight candidates, the first constituency had the lion's share of the number of hopefuls, followed by the fifth district, seven, while six were registered for the second and third constituencies. Only three applied for the first constituency. Meanwhile, no female nominees turned up.
