The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has given out 200 tonnes of dates to refugees in Lebanon.
They were distributed to 250,000 displaced Syrians, Palestinians and Lebanese over a 15-day campaign across the country.
Muslim Al Mansouri, director of the Humanitarian and Development Affairs Attache at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, said that the provision of aid would continue in the UAE’s Winter 2017 campaign.
"Aid was distributed to 1,000 Syrian families in Wadi Khaled in Akkar province. Last week, 1,000 Palestinian families in Ain Al Hilweh refugee camp received aid as well."
The distribution was overseen by the humanitarian and development affairs attache and implemented by the relief commission and humanitarian aid association at Dar Al Fatwa in Lebanon.
Mr Al Mansouri said that aid would continue to be distributed to those most in need in border areas.
