About 110 people were killed and 903 were injured in 670 traffic accidents registered with the police last month (October), according to statistics released by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) today. The most number of accidents (19) were registered in the Interior region, followed by 16 cases in Muscat, 13 in the northern parts of Batinah, 12 in the Central Region, 11 each in Dhofar and Northern-Eastern region, nine in the Southern parts of Batinah, seven in the Dhahirah region and six each in Buraimi and South-Eastern region. In the most serious accident between two vehicles in Ibri, seven people were killed and two erer critically injured during the month of October, the released from ROP said. The ROP have urged all drivers to abide by traffic rules, observe the speed limit, exercise caution while driving and avoid using the mobile phone without using the headset, as well as avoid writing SMS or play with e-devices that may cause the driver loosing concentration.
