Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, has again reiterated the UAE leadership's keenness on maintaining harmony amongst the country's social fabric and its commitment to devoting the values of coexistence and tolerance among all members of society and without discrimination based on religion, sect, race or colour.
Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi said that the UAE Government, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has bolstered avenues for dialogue, coexistence acceptance of others, renounced hatred, extremism, and discrimination, which is evident in the presence of more than 200 nationalities in the country, making the UAE an incubator of peoples and a cradle of human communication and a landmark of cultural blending.
These comments were made during Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi's meeting with Manuel A. Gonzalez Sanz, Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Relations and Worship of Costa Rica, on the sidelines of her participation in the UN Secretary-General High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment, which was held in the Costa Rican capital, San Jose.
During her participation, the Minister of State for Tolerance presented details of the national programme of tolerance and its importance to UAE society in light of the rise in extremism, hatred, and discrimination in the world.
The UAE Minister also highlighted the joint efforts made by the UAE leadership and government with the leaders and governments of other countries, in leading global initiatives such as the Hidayah Centre, a joint UAE-US initiative in the fight against violent extremism.
Manuel A. Gonzalez Sanz praised the Emirati philosophy and the UAE Government's civilised and futuristic thinking, expressing his readiness to cooperate in any future agendas to promote tolerance, coexistence and dialogue between civilisations and religions.
