The UAE Armed Forces will remain the protective shield and guarantor of the nation's hard-won achievements under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and also as a result of the sincere and relentless efforts by His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to upgrade the armed forces' capabilities to carry out their duty of protecting the country and its borders properly, Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD, has affirmed.
'The UAE leadership and people recognise the momentous role the armed forces play and the tremendous challenge they face amidst a world plagued by conflicts and threats from every nook and cranny, given the prominent standing of the UAE in terms of its developmental achievements. The armed forces serve as the mainstay of national security, stability and prosperity,' Sheikha Lubna said in remarks to mark her ministry's participation in the 'Thank you our Armed Forces, protectors of the land and guardians of the union' initiative, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on the occasion of his accession day.
She added that His Highness' initiative signifies the strong interaction between the leadership and people with the armed forces.
On the occasion of his accession day on 4th January, Sheikh Mohammed has invited the entire nation to join in and show their gratitude towards our Armed Forces, who are part of every home, family, and institution of this great nation.
He asked all individuals and organisations to share a message of thanks and support to those brave sons and daughters of the UAE.
