Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State and Board Representative of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee and Director General of Bureau Dubai Expo 2020, has reiterated her confidence in the UAE's ability and readiness to deliver one of the most successful expos when it hosts Dubai Expo 2020, under the theme, 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.' In an interview with Emirates News Agency, WAM, Al Hashimy said that she hopes that Expo Dubai 2020 will fulfil the ambitions and aspirations of the UAE's wise leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Al Hashimy also said that during her participation in the UAE National Day celebrations in the country's pavilion at Expo Milan 2015, she met with a number of Italian businessmen to learn about their planned offerings for the next Expo in Dubai.
The Minister went on to note that since Dubai won the bid to host the event - which will be the first time the exhibition will be held in the Middle East - the organising committee has hosted meetings with businessmen, investors, and owners of large companies and SME's in Dubai and the UAE to discuss their contributions to the exhibition, as part of preparations for the event in which more than 180 countries are expected to participate.
Al Hashimy also commended the National Media Council for their efforts in organising the UAE pavilion in Expo Milan, praising the pavilion's "Unique and excellent design and content which reflected an honourable image of the UAE in a major international forum."
