Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has said he will grow his hair in the style of compatriot Jan Tomaszewski if Poland are pulled out to play alongside England in tomorrow's UEFA EURO 2012 draw. Long-haired goalkeeper Tomaszewski made a series of stunning saves during Poland's 1-1 draw with England at Wembley in 1973, a result that denied Sir Alf Ramsey's team a place at the following year's FIFA World Cup™. Now Szczesny has told his club team-mates he will aim to recreate his celebrated predecessor's look should co-hosts Poland be paired with the Three Lions during the draw in Kiev. "I told the lads I'm going to grow long hair if we draw England," Szczesny told his club's website. "It would be fantastic. You might remember the goalkeeper who played against England in 1973. You should all remember him. "So I'll grow the long hair and try to do the job as well as he did. I might have to wear a wig because there won't be enough time to grow it." Poland are the lowest-ranked side in next year's finals but Szczesny hopes home advantage will count in his country's favour. "This competition is massive because we are hosting it [with Ukraine]," he said. "The draw is big because we aren't the favourites and it will make a big impact on how we are going to do. I can't wait for it to start."
