Chairperson of Egypt’s Ahly Club Mahmoud Taher revealed that they work currently to convince the Egyptian authorities to allow the attendance of 20 thousand fans during the coming match against Cameroon’s Cotton Sport football team in the framework of the current CAF Champions League. He praised the civilized approach adopted by the fans during the latest match against Moroccan Wydad Casablanca.
He said, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the civilized approach adopted by the fans pushed the administration to ask the authorities for increasing the number of the team’s fans allowed to attend the coming matches in the tournament. He underlined the importance of fans during the matches of CAF Champions League, saying that the fans performed a major role in the different victories that the team achieved since its establishment.
He added that the administration will ask the Egyptian authorities to increase the fans attending the coming matches gradually, saying that they give priority to the African championship during the coming period to meet the aspirations of the team’s fans from all over the Arab world.
Regarding the current problem of the team’s player Coulibaly, Taher said that the team has not received any offers to sell the player. He said that Al Ahly hasn’t received any official offers since Coulibaly travelled without permission and he only received a phone call from his agent passing the player’s wish to end his contract with Al Ahly.
Taher stressed that, Al Ahly is adhering to its full rights and he will take all legal precautions after escalating the problem to the FIFA.
Sulaimani Coulibaly travelled to London without any permission from the club after the team returned from Cameroon, after the match against the Cameroonian cotton team in the CAF Champions League. The team members tried to reach him, until he declared that, he wanted to end his contract with Al Ahly through his agent.
