Three prominent Al Qaeda militants were killed in an air strike believed to be carried out by a US drone in Shabwah governorate in southeastern Yemen, local sources said on Friday.
They were killed after the US strike has targeted their car on Merkhah Beihan road in the governorate, the sources added.
In Lahij governorate, Arab coalition fighter jets shelled sites of Al Qaeda in east and west of Al Houta city with no casualties reported.
Meanwhile, a special unit of the Yemeni army has raided some areas in Al Houta city to arrest some wanted elements.
Forces of the Yemeni army and the Arab coalition are developing a plan to purge Lahij governorate from Al Qaeda fighters, a military source said.
