Afghan security forces have killed 31 militants during series of operations across the militancy-battered country over the past 24 hours, said the Interior Ministry in a statement on Sunday.
During the operations that covered parts of Wardak, Nangarhar, Daikundi and Uruzgan provinces, according to the statement, two other insurgents have been injured and another 12 captured.
The statement did not say if there were casualties among security personnel.
However, it added that the Defense and Security Forces have stepped up counter-terror operations to curb insurgency in the country.
The hardliner Taliban and Islamic State groups have intensified anti-government activities elsewhere in insurgency-hit Afghanistan.
