Units of Afghan police backed by the army have killed 14 Taliban militants throughout the country over the past 24 hours, Afghan Interior Ministry (MoI) said in a statement released here on Tuesday. "During series of operations conducted by police in Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Takhar, Kandahar and Zabul provinces over the past 24 hours, 14 armed Taliban rebels were killed and 19 others arrested," the statement contended. Without mentioning the possible casualties of the security forces, the statement went on to say that police have also discovered a number of arms and ammunitions including two anti- tank vehicles during the operations Taliban militants fighting the government are yet to make comment.
