Eleven insurgents had been killed in three separate operations in Afghanistan, said the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Sunday. "An Afghan and coalition security force killed five extremists and wounded one other during an operation in search of a senior Taliban leader in Muhammad Aghah district, Logar province, yesterday," the ISAF said in a press release. The eastern Logar province is lying 60 km south of Afghan capital Kabul. "The leader is responsible for planning, enabling and executing attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the Muhammad Aghah and Kabul districts," the release added. In addition, the joint forces killed four militants and wounded one in eastern Paktiya province 100 km south of Kabul Saturday, it noted. Two other insurgents were killed in a separate raid in Logar's Muhammad Aghah also on Saturday, according to the press release. The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has yet to make comments.
