The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Thursday that it was able to disburse $461,234 for the reconstruction and repair works activities to 63 refugee families across Gaza whose homes were damaged during Israel’s 2014 military assault.
A total of $237,412 went for reconstruction while severe repair works got $223,822, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.
Emergency shelter – including support for home repairs, reconstruction and interim shelter solutions – is a top priority for UNRWA, said an UNRWA press release, adding "the agency remains committed to supporting affected families yet requires new funding to continue the shelter cash assistance program."
