A Palestinian man succumbed Saturday morning to wounds he had sustained on Friday during clashes in Hebron city, said medical sources.
Nader Mohammad Idriss, 42, succumbed to his wounds he had sustained Friday afternoon when he was shot and injured by the Israeli forces in the chest during clashes in Hebron.
Earlier on Friday, a rally was organized at Bab Az-Zawiah in down town Hebron in solidarity with the war-torn Gaza Strip. The Israeli forces attempted to crush it, firing tear gas canisters, rubber-coated and live ammunition at protesters, injuring at least 22 Palestinians with rubber coasted steel bullets, including Idriss who was shot with live ammunition. Several Palestinians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
Medical sources at Al-Mizaan Hospital said that Idriss died after he underwent a cardiac surgery to repair the damage caused to one of his major coronary arteries.
The body of Idriss was taken to the Hebron-based Al-Ahli Hospital to be delivered to his family in preparation for the funeral procession in Hebron.
