Israeli army shot dead a Palestinian in the West Bank during clashes that erupted between the soldiers and Palestinians late Wednesday, medical sources and witnesses said.The dead was identified as Amer Nassar, 17 years old. Three Palestinians were also injured when the clashes erupted near the city of Tulkarem.The Israeli military said that the Palestinians threw Molotov cocktails at an Israeli army checkpoint near the city, sparking the shooting.The witnesses said that the body of Nassar was still being held by the Israeli troops. They added that he was hit with three bullets.Dozens of Palestinians were injured with tear gas during clashes at several locations in the West Bank. The clashes come a day after a Palestinian prisoner died of cancer at an Israeli hospital. The Palestinians blame Israel on the death of Maysara Abu Hamdia, 64, by delaying his treatment.
