Two Palestinians were killed on early Saturday by Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, medical sources in Gaza said.
One of them was killed in Johr al-Deek area in southern Gaza City, while the other was killed when Israeli warplanes hit a house in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, medics said.
Israeli jets also targeted a number of facilities used by Islamic Hamas Movement, which rules the Gaza Strip.
After 11 days of bloody airstrikes to end rocket fire into Israel, the Israeli army started a limited ground operation in Gaza late Thursday after Egyptian and international efforts failed to help reach a ceasefire in Gaza.
Hamas warned that Israel would pay a heavy price for the ground offensive on Gaza.
The latest round of Israeli attacks has killed 307 Palestinians and injured more than 2,200 others.
