Bombings in Baghdad and Mosul killed at least four people and wounded at least five others, officials said Tuesday. In Mosul, Nineveh governor Athil al-Nujaifi escaped assassination during a bombing attempt on his convoy, al-Sumaria reported. A drive-by shooting in Nineveh killed the head of a cement company and injured a company employee, officials said. In Baghdad, a man and woman were killed in a roadside bombing in al-Shaab district, police said. Four other people were injured. A police office was killed by gunmen using silenced weapons in the northern Baghdad district of al-Tarmiya, al-Sumaria reported. Also in Baghdad, officials said a Defense Ministry officer was wounded when a bomb stuck to his car detonated in al-Amin district.
