Obama's nomination for Seoul envoy 'great choice'

The outgoing U.S. ambassador on Wednesday expressed high expectations for the nominee to replace her, saying the nomination of Sung Kim would upgrade the Seoul-Washington alliance to a new level. U.S. President Barack Obama nominated last week the veteran diplomat Kim as the next ambassador to South Korea, the first Korean-American to become Washington's envoy to Seoul.
