Egypt's ousted leader Hosni Mubarak, who is under arrest in a hospital room, is depressed and needs treatment by a psychologist, the official MENA news agency reported on Saturday. The 83-year-old former president has been in hospital since April after he reportedly suffered a heart attack during interrogation. He is accused of involvement in corruption and the deaths of anti-regime protesters. A doctor in the hospital of the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, quoted by MENA, said that Mubarak's physical health was now stable but "his mental health is bad." "Former president Hosni Mubarak's health mental health requires a psychologist," he said. The protests which overthrew Mubarak on February 11 came as a shock to Mubarak, who ruled Egypt for three decades. His two sons are in a Cairo jail on corruption charges which extend to his wife Suzanne, who is out on bail.
