Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Jassim Al-Khirafi held talks here today with Speaker of the Albanian parliament Jozefina Topalli on ways to promote relations between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary field. In a statement after the talks Al-Khirafi underlined the depth of relations between Kuwait and the Republic of Albania at all political, parliamentary, economic, trade and investment levels. For her part, Topalli praised the support provided by the State of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development to finance a number of development projects in Albania, explaining that the Fund offered eight million dollars loan to finance infrastructure projects in the six provinces of Albania. She added that it has also provided USD12 million to finance a project for water desalination in addition to the USD 13 million to finance a project for constructing a major road. The Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker arrived in Tirana yesterday on a three-day official visit to Albania as part of a tour which he started with a visit to Serbia and will also include Kosovo.
