Greek Prime Minister meets Iraqi President

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou met today with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on the sidelines of the Socialist International (SI) Council Meeting, currently in session in Athens. During the meeting, Papandreou and Talabani discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, especially in the political and economic fields. The Iraqi President noted that the Greek companies contribution to the reconstruction process and other investments in Iraq would be of an important benefit for both countries. For his part, the Greek Premier expressed readiness to expand the scope of cooperation with Iraq in the vital areas.
