Fierce clashes that broke out on Thursday between Israeli Army troops and Palestinian activists in the town of Salwan , South of al aqsa mosque near Jerusalem, in protest of the inauguration of a new Jewish settlement in Ras Al-Amoud district in Salwan , came to an end late last night. According to witnesses, the israeli occupation forces turned the area to a semi military outpost through intensifying their aramy and police presence . The inauguration ceremony was attended by municipal figures and right-wing members of the Knesset. The protests involved Palestinian activists, Israeli and foreign peace advocates, who chanted slogans against the occupation.
