Field Marshal Tantawi meets Palestinian President

Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces Field Marshall Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, met here on Monday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently visiting Egypt. They discussed the efforts made to drump up international support for recognizing a Palestinian State, the Mideest peace process, and the support Egypt can provide to Palestinian National Reconciliation between all palestinian parties. Palestinians declared their readiness for peace negotiations with Israel based on the foundations laid down by US President Barack Obama in his May 19 speech, and based on the resolutions of the meeting of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee held in Doha recently.
