Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit made a phone call with Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki on Sunday.
During the phone call, the two sides took up ways of boosting the Arab-African ties along with boosting cooperation mechanisms between the two sides, according to a statement issued by the pan-Arab body on Sunday.
Abul Gheit, meanwhile, voiced keenness on taking more effective steps to boost cooperation and coordination between the Arab League and the African Union Commission.
Abul Gheit also invited Faki to attend the opening session of the upcoming Arab Summit, which will be held in Jordan on March 29.
